Temporary Nonimmigrant Work Visas

TN Visa Requirements

To qualify for a TN visa, you must:

  • The position must be pre-arranged with a U.S. employer

Cap on TN Visas

There is no annual limit or cap on the number of TN visas issued by the U.S. government.

Duration of Stay

  • Initial stay: up to 3 years
  • Extensions: may be requested
  • If applying from inside the U.S., employer may file Form I-129
  • If leaving the U.S., a new application may be required
